Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Check emails in the morning and answer them. Attend meetings with frontline to assess their controls. Assist in the production of reporting materials. Compile events and issues data.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Early on in the internship, my exposure was limited due to train strikes but I began to get more responsibility as the weeks progressed. The latter end of the internship was similarly slow as many people were on holiday.

The most important skill I have developed has been Excel. I spent most of my time on excel and so I learned a lot of shortcuts and tricks.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I enjoyed being part of the Ops Risk team, simply because the people I worked with were so welcoming and understanding. The team helped me to fit in nicely and were always on hand to address any concerns that I had so I will always recommend the internship for anyone considering it.
