Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I have only experienced the first year in which we are slowly taught the basics of hands on work in the apprentice workshop.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
It may not be perfectly suitable for me as a mature student however this is a very good position and an amazing opportunity for any 16 year old post GCSE student who could have the chance at this job.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have had the opportunity to refine skills. I am an especially handy worker already so it is less relevant to me. however my colleges are benefiting a lot from the new skills we are able to gain. most people know very little about hands on engineering work so it is a great opportunity for them.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
management can be a little disconnected from the reality of our activities in the workshop and therefore less understanding and more harsh with inspections. however it is often unreasonably demanding with inspections in the real world so this can also be a beneficial learning opportunity
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
2/5
honestly we only have charity champions. they don't accommodate much free time for activities or encourage the planning or support of any.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BMW Group UK to a friend?
Yes
Why?
If they enjoyed or suited a corporate professional career with a company that pays well and offers the potential to move job roles as they qualify. this is a low level apprenticeship, L3, however it is the best L3 workshop I visited and likely to be the best respected L3 one could find in this sector
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BMW Group UK?
you should be ready for a stricter, more corporate environment.
