Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Currently rotating through different topics in a workshop learning different skills such as welding, fluid power and PLCs, along with a college day a week to learn topics such as maths or health and safety.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Apprenticeship is enjoyable, People are nice and friendly.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Have learnt many new skills since starting. These include- Health and safety knowledge, Engineering based maths, fluid power, PLC's, Milling and lathe machines, Hand fitting methods, MMA and MIG welding as well as the knowledge behind these skills. All of these were knew to me and I do feel confident in them moving forward.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Programme is well structured. Set in groups and all rotating around the workshop within time allocations. Everything will be complete by end of year.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I can ask for support at any time I need and it is easily available.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Support is available and is easily available, Most tutors are helpful/knowledgeable however some tutors I have trouble understanding or they have a lack of knowledge.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel it will definitely help me in my role as it is relevant to what I will be doing in future and certain parts are tailored towards the role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes there are some however I have not really looked into these so am not personally 100% sure.

Why?
Good apprenticeship, People are friendly, Site is nice, clean and has good facilities with every piece of training equipment available. Many important skills for engineering that can be developed through the program, workload is tough but definitely manageable.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BMW Group UK?
Be Professional, Well worth apprenticeship just ensure to keep on top off everyting.
