Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
As in first year at the moment, we switch around the workshop doing different rotations in month long intervals. These rotations involve things like welding, milling and turning, PLC, fluid power, electronics and more. In the 2nd year we begin to rotate around the business.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
Enjoy it a lot.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Have learned so many new skills and found the learning by practical approach much more helpful. This knowledge learned is important and transferrable to what our jobs will be when we complete apprenticeship.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
Very well structured, we are split into 3 groups when learning in the first year and then when working in the business everything is very clear and well organised.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Always support available if needed, very keen to hear our feedback and help us feel like we are getting the most out of our apprenticeship
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
Mostly good, had some trouble with a few teachers. Some teachers are excellent while others have a lack of knowledge in their subject. Support is always available and easily accessible from safe guarding team.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I think it will be helpful, some stuff that we cover is slightly unnecessary but useful to gain knowledge and understanding so overall good.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
As an apprentice extra-curricular activities are harder to get involved in, however when we finish the apprenticeship they become much more accessible and there are lots to get involved with.
