Working with the wider JDE Category and Shopper team. Creating reports and conveying data to the wider business. Opportunities to run national shopper activations and conferences. Analysis of KPI and consumer trends. Evaluation of shopper activations in-store and online. Great exposure to external and internal business contacts including field sales and marketing agencies. Ownership of an array of projects giving you experience in project management and communication.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
There was a great amount of responsibility in the role. I had real ownership of many different projects. As a business they give a lot of opportunity for responsibility to their interns and it is up to the interns to maximise this to the fullest.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I had a great experience on my internship. I completed my internship during Covid so it was first half working from home. The business worked hard to keep the interns in contact and to make WFH as engaging as possible. Overall, I really enjoyed my placement and I learned so much.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Jacobs Douwe Egberts to a friend?
Yes
What advice would you give to others applying to Jacobs Douwe Egberts
The JDE placement is very much what you make of it. There are many core responsibilities within each role but there are also so many opportunities to take advantage of. Ask questions and make connections. Once you feel confident within your role, reach out to as many different business functions as you can. The more experience the better and the internship is set up for you to be able to do this.
