Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My job role entails supporting individuals with learning disabilities to live their lives as fully as possible whilst maintaining their health and wellbeing. I support individuals throughout the day on a one-to-one basis, as well as lead and manage my staff team to ensure the highest quality of care is being provided.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoyed my programme thouroughly! Not only was the programme engaging and relevant to my job role, it provided me with endless knowledge and skills that I can now utilise within my job to benefit the individuals I care for.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I learnt a range of new skills as well as greatly develop my existing skills during the programme. I now use these skills on a daily basis with confidence throughout my working day. These skills range from effective leadership, clear and concise communication, adapting to unexpected scenarios and much much more!
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

My programme was very well structured and organised by my personal trainer that was appointed to me through Paragon Skills. I had a clear goal to aim towards from the very beginning of my course, alongside monthly checkpoints and revisions to make sure I was staying on track with everything.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I received excellent support from my employer throughout my course. My employer provided me with regular updates, one on one sessions and was always there if I needed further assistance during all of my learning modules.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
My training provider was perfect when offering support. Not only did I receive endless support and encouragement from my personal trainer, I had countless qualified professionals always ready to offer a helping hand when I needed it. Throughout my course, all of the trainers were always more than happy to sit down with me and explain things if I needed clarification or help with things I didn't quite grasp.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel my qualification has helped me greatly in becoming an all round effective Senior support worker for Voyage Care. My qualification has given me the necessary skills, knowledge, further experience and confidence with performing my job role to a very high standard, that in turn, will benefit the lives of the individuals I care for immensely.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

My work has great opportunities for further networking amongst a range of professionals with insightful knowledge regarding my job role. My workplace has a great team who are slowly becoming like family the longer I work there. We have regular social gatherings that bring the team together which creates a positive and productive working environment when on shift.

Voyage care is a reliable, friendly and immersive company to work for. Voyage care provides opportunities for personal and professional growth on many levels. I am very glad and proud having worked for Voyage for many years throughout my life.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to VOYAGE Care?
When applying to Voyage Care, I would advise candidates to consider why they want to work for Voyage. Make sure you are ready to give 100% as if you do, you will be rewarded 110%.
