Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
2/5
My role involves processing refunds and completing bank reconciliations as well as dealing with queries supporting the business.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
2/5
When I first started my apprenticeship I thoroughly enjoyed it as I moved round various accounts receivable and payable teams and finishing by choosing which team I wanted to join. Although this was amazing at the start of my Level 3 AAT apprenticeship, after starting my Level 4 AAT apprenticeship I have not been offered any progression plan or opportunities within the business. I have not been able to reflect my studies into practice what so ever since starting this new course, I have asked and requested information regarding how I can progress in the business and the next steps for this however haven't received support or guidance for this and it has resulted in me being unhappy with my current apprenticeship.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
2/5
When completing my Level 3 apprenticeship I learnt new skills such as various transactional accounting skills, excel and communication skills with stakeholders. Since starting my Level 4 I have not been able to learn any new skills or develop existing skills within the business due to lack of opportunities and progression.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
I believe when starting the apprenticeship on Level 3 the structure of the plan is extremely good as it allows us to gain skills from various teams and be able to gather quick early knowledge. However, when moving onto higher qualifications I believe the structure isn't good as I am offered no exposure or progression to be able to reflect my new qualification in practice. This limits me in what I am able to do in my studies as I cant use any knowledge in practice.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
I receive good support from my manager who pushes me to do well in exams as well as trying to get me involved as much as possibly regarding team work/ projects as they come. We do have an apprenticeship team who perform check-ups on apprentices to see how studies are going and if I have any concerns, even though my concerns regarding my apprenticeship have been spoken about multiple times noting has been done leaving me in a difficult situation and unhappy.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I receive alot of support from my training provider when working towards my qualification, we have fortnightly workshops focussing on knowledge we have learnt on the visual learning platform. If I ever have any concerns I can easily raise this and schedule 1 to 1 calls to focus on areas I struggle with.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
1/5
I don't feel that my qualification helps me perform better in my job role as nothing I learn is able to be reflected and put into practice in my role due to a tight team in terms of what work I can do. The lack of progression within the business and opportunities also prevents this.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
We have quarterly socials within our office encouraging networking and socialising, we have a very friendly social office which makes it enjoyable to come to the office.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Savills to a friend?
No
Why?
I would not recommend Savills to a friend if there goal is to find a company offering good levels of progression where the individual is heavily focussed on building themselves and skills. I would however recommend if the induvial wanted to complete a Level 3 qualification only and not progress afterwards.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Savills?
My advice would be research into the various job roles aswell as the job descriptions to see whether it fits your future criteria in terms of what you want form a company.
