Engineering Intern Review

Full stack development of a web platform using Angular and Java. We had daily meetings with out manager, regular catch ups with our buddies and other team members. We worked on a project as a team, micro managed our time and priorities. This was very helpful for getting to know more about the company but also learning how to write clean and high quality code. Overall, the project was very interesting and we had a lot of say in it's development.

We all were given a bit of autonomy and freedom in deciding which responsibilities we want to take. I believe this was very good because through time we all naturally gravitated towards some responsibilities that we enjoy the most and feel the most comfortable with. It also thought us how to work as a team and split responsibilities in a way that we progress efficiently but also everyone is happy with what they are doing.

I've developed a lot of new technical and soft skills. I've learned Angular, Java and working with Rx library within these. I also got familiar with using command line, and Git. In terms of soft skills, I've improved my presentation giving skills, I've learned how larger teams function and work together, learned how to communicate my ideas better, what responsibilities each role carries with it and which problems you could face in a working environment.

We were all getting as much guidance and support as we needed. I would say that this was exceptionally good and useful at the start of our internship where the most of us were very new and inexperienced and any kind of guidance was extremely valuable and helpful. Throughout the whole internship, the whole team, and especially our manager, were happy to provide us with materials and suggestions that could help us and of course their own help if we're struggling with something.

I greatly enjoyed my internship here. The team I was working with is consisted of very smart and even more friendly people. Everyone was trying to make us feel welcome and comfortable, they showed understanding for all our struggles and curiosities. They tried to help us to learn as much as possible and really gave us the needed support to find our place within the firm even if it could end up being outside of the team.

I greatly enjoyed my internship, it's hard to imagine a more enjoyable and perspective environment to learn and work in. I learned a lot while not feeling overly stressed thanks to the team that was always very supportive and willing to guide us. I also enjoyed the culture and team spirit that exists within the team I worked with, chances to speak with people that work on different positions, with different experiences was also very enriching.
