In my role as an Early Years Childcare Manager, I am responsible for leading the setting to deliver high‑quality early education and care. This includes managing staff, safeguarding children, supporting learning and development, maintaining policies and standards, and building strong relationships with families and external agencies. I focus on creating a positive, inclusive environment where children and staff can thrive.

I enjoy the programme to a large extent, as it has deepened my understanding of effective leadership and high‑quality practice within early years settings. While the workload can be challenging at times, I find the content relevant, engaging, and directly linked to my role as an Early Years Childcare Manager. The programme supports my professional development and encourages reflective practice, which makes the learning meaningful and motivating.

I have strengthened my leadership and management skills, particularly in supporting staff, monitoring practice, and maintaining high standards across the setting. I have also developed my reflective practice, confidence in decision‑making, and understanding of theoretical frameworks that underpin early years practice. Additionally, the programme has improved my ability to link theory to practice, manage challenges more effectively, and support children’s learning and development in a more informed and intentional way.

The learning provided through my training provider has strengthened my leadership and management skills, improved my understanding of early years theory, and enhanced my ability to reflect on and improve practice. It has increased my confidence in decision‑making, safeguarding responsibilities, and supporting staff development. Being able to apply theory directly to my day‑to‑day role has helped me lead more effectively and ensure higher standards of care and education within the setting.
