Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I undertook smaller development tasks whilst onboarding. I use Python, Power BI and JavaScript. Going forward, I am going to be working on Data and Ai.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I’ve definitely become more confident with networking with new individuals and communicating with people from all ages and backgrounds. There are so many resources available in order to expand your knowledge.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
For technology, there have been excessive periods of time where I have lacked direction and instruction, left having nothing to do. Other departments have a more defined introductory structure however I did not experience that. However, I have been given a lot of freedom to explore what I want to do and shape my career
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
There has been great support, HR had multiple catch ups in the beginning and are always happy to talk. Everyone in my department is super supportive as well and always willing to talk.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Extremely supportive academic mentors, always able to answer your questions and very understanding of any blockers and limitations
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
The technology I needed to learn did not align with the university’s specification or the timeline I needed it for. The course has been updated for coming years so should get better
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
So many, plenty of events for junior talent, technology. I have played in sports socials, participated in running socials and multiple fun events (eg mini golf)

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to UBS?
Definitely look into the company values and ensure you identify any transferrable skills in your CV that can aid in your day to day role
