Overall, how would you describe your experience at Department for Education?
Positive - colleagues are supportive. My career progression is prioritised. The day-to-day role is engaging and interesting.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
Diary and inbox management. Stakeholder engagement. Correspondence inbox management. Business administration activities. Directorate level support. I enjoy the stakeholder management and the fact that the role is incredibly flexible and I can push myself to make the most of it and experience other areas.

I feel that the role is not entirely aligned with the career path I would like to pursue and so although my team is very supportive of my progression it can be hard to prepare for future roles through this role.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

I feel like my skills and confidence have increased significantly. There are still additional areas of development I would like to pursue but I feel that I am getting a lot out of my role.

My managers are very supportive of my development and making sure that I am able to manage my workload sustainably. The colleagues I work with most closely are always understanding and supportive.

I sometimes struggle to prioritise my work-life balance, while my organisation emphasises it I find it easy to work overtime or work outside of my pre-arranged hours in order to complete work.

The environment is positive and supportive. The work is engaging, changeable, and interesting. The perks - such as hybrid and flexi working policies - are very beneficial to maintaining a positive working environment.
