Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Attending meetings and meeting consultants. Doing PowerPoint presentations and excel work.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Slide preparation and ‘secretary’ work. Not much responsibility is given which isn’t very motivating to work hard for extremely easy tasks.

Not that much. I have improved my Microsoft skills, but the main benefit of the internship was the contacts I made.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
We were given a 2 day induction, the first being online. This was a good foundation and introduction to what applications we were going to use for the following month.

Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The work environment seems quite inefficient as most of the day is spent in meetings and not doing actual work (people realise this). Additionally, the majority of people leave the office/stop working at least after 8pm.

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I met a lot of exceptional people, and I think it’s a great opportunity to extend your network, but I wouldn’t apply if your only intention was to learn and build your skills for your future.

What advice would you give to others applying to Deloitte
To research and talk to people who have done similar internships/jobs in deloitte. Consulting, and especially in one of the big 4 is very different to what many people expect.
