Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
As a toolmaker I have enjoyed the hands on learning and the use of multiple different skills and techniques. I learn everyday with different techniques and methods that get shown from more skilled fitters and toolmakers. Over the past few years I have understood further about quality issues that can have an effect on the total assembly and paint of the cars.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoy the programme and the growth over time. I do like the current structure with 1-2 days working on the EPA process. This is because having the time to switch between paperwork and physical work is a good mix and allows you to focus on each part as required.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt a lot over the course of the apprenticeship and will continue to learn over time. Learning new and more skills and techniques or developing further on existing skills with advice and guidance form those that are more experienced.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The structure overall is good but the training onto further equipment i feel could be more structured into a plan.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
There is a massive amount of support be it academic, medical or emotional. The support I have received for educational has been great and very beneficial.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
There is a massive amount of support from the training providers especially for the educational process and they are always there if you need help with anything regarding the paperwork and college processes.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I feel that the qualifications do help in gaining a base knowledge, however I do think the hands on experience does outweigh the qualification in some regards.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are extra-curricular activities these are mainly for school events and charity events throughout the year.
