Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
In second year we are based in different placements within the plant, we assist the maintenance teams monitoring the production lines and then report to any breakdowns if they occur.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I find the job interesting at times but other times we have a large extent of work to do which we usually have to take home.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
In the our first year I learnt quite a few new skills, and have been able to develop them into my second year.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The structure of the placements varies on the technology, but overall we apprentices are generally accounted for.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
The support from employers is very good, if we ever have a question it generally gets answered quite quickly and will the relevant information.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
We are generally left alone with our college work, and if we need help with the work itself there isn't much other than each other, however, if there are other issues with college our employers are there to help.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
I don't really have a connection between my college work and my placement work as of right now, but I'm sure there is time for it to cross paths.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
We have many teams that are available to join, I am currently part of the charity team where I help organise and carry out different events such as bake sales.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BMW Group UK to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I really enjoy working here and I think I have found myself here, my confidence has also been improved a lot and I can confidently complete things I wouldn't of been able to before.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BMW Group UK?
Be prepared to put the work in, it is by no means easy and a lot of people will struggle. If you stay on top of work and have the right attitude, you will be fine.
