Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
As a tax analyst I completed various tasks to help within the team. My days tended to differ due to this range of work. Calls to HMRC were common and I helped with other matters such as shadow payrolls and completing tax returns.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I was given free reign to try a lot of tasks with no pressure as more senior team members would check the work was correct.

It is quite surprising how quickly you pick up a lot of technical knowledge within the sector. I also found that I was able to develop my professional communication skills, in person over the phone and by email.
