Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the virtual internship and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
We started with an icebreaker every morning where we got split into breakout rooms on zoom. then we would be presented with a bit of information about what the culture is like a Deloitte, Each afternoon we would have a project or challenge, one day it was a cryptocurrency challenge and others it was a business PESTAL analysis presentation. We got to talk to employees at Deloitte, who gave us some great insight into a day in the life.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
Deloitte makes sure you work with great people, on exciting projects, and at the cutting edge of innovation. you can work in Forensic, using your skills to combat fraud, bribery and corruption, anti-money laundering.You can also Specialise in Robotics,applying pioneering technology, such as Robotic and Intelligent Automation. The leaders were very helpful in explaining what they do every day and gave us a special activity, where we got to speak to each of the roles in tech teams.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
Acquired expertise in Effective Zoom calls, virtual meetings, and other forms of remote communication that you participated in during the experience will have helped you hone your abilities to interact with an audience remotely. Gained presentation skills with team building activities, had to sell your product and engage audience over zoom. Industry specific skills like a PESTAL analysis was extremely useful to use in the future. Learn that in a tech role, consulting plays a big role

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Attention to details,It is a degree to which employees are expected to exhibit precision, analysis, and attention to detail. Deloitte makes sure to ensure an impact that truly matters: for the people, clients and society. They foster a culture in which the people feel empowered to drive positive change. Their diversity allows their business to grow and they are extremely driven to reach their goals of improving the amount of people from ethnic minority backgrounds to reach high positions.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy the virtual internship?
Showed how you get opportunities to work directly with Clients, and collaborated well with team. It is a lot of fun and provides good work-life balance. It is a collaborative place and has a great people culture. Company culture is great, met some really amazing, open-minded people at the workplace. You will feel like you’re part of something. And the people there are seriously brilliant. It is a Good firm, with clear visions and values.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Deloitte
Prepare for the assessment process, research the company and make sure you know the company's core values, visions and ethics. Be prepared to put yourself out there and leave a good impression, be confident and don't be afraid to question other ideas by other students, as they often just say random things but look good because they are the only one speaking, but are actually giving rubbish ideas. Overall just try bring something to the company.
