Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Every day is different; some days I'm in college learning the engineering principles, and some days I'm in the plant applying it. In college, I have learned all about hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical maintenance, bench fitting, milling, turning, and BIT. All of these come in very handy when you are on a breakdown in the plant.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I love the challenge it brings me, and I really enjoy being hands-on on a day-to-day basis.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
As previously mentioned, I have learned numerous things in college, including how machines operate and how to repair them in the plant.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The college is not the best structured in terms of communication with BMW, and some lectures can be disorganised
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
Responses are very quick with management, but some things that should have been done have sometimes not been; apart from that, they are very good in terms of support
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
There is a lot of overlap between the courses at college which comes in very handy
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
It teaches me from the basics and then when I get to the plant a have a pre attained understanding making the tasks much easier
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are football sessions, charity events, newsletter teams and more

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BMW Group UK to a friend?
Yes
Why?
The apprenticeship has a great pension scheme and progression opportunities to take advantage of
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BMW Group UK?
The process is very long for applying, but don't be discouraged, BMW has a lot of applications to work through, meaning the responses back about the interviews can be slow.
