Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the virtual internship and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
We worked in teams of around 6-7 people to achieve tasks which were sent to us via email and we had to complete them within a time limit.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
From an outsider’s perspective, the business initially seemed very focussed upon work and that people who worked there centralised work in their lives, but with this insight I discovered that there was more to the business; a social element which promoted the work life balance and harmony between the employers and the employees.

I’ve developed my group leadership skills further by coordinating the activities of my group and facilitating our success by assigning tasks to every individual so that we could finish the overall task faster with greater efficiency.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
They were brilliantly friendly, and Deloitte promote diversity throughout the business, which was evident in the fact that many employees will people of colour, which, as a person of colour myself was delightful to learn!

To what extent did you enjoy the virtual internship?
I enjoyed it thoroughly as I had the opportunity to put my skills and outgoing personality on display by taking command of my group of my own accord and leading us through the experience.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Deloitte
I would advise a friend that they should have grades of a certain caliber in order to get in as Deloitte has a high bar of expectations from those who it admits, as I noticed that everyone in the experience was very educated, going to either grammar or private schools like myself, however there were some very intelligent individuals there.
