Recommendations & Advice
Would you recommend UBS to a friend?
Why?
What makes it even more valuable is the exposure you get working at a global firm like UBS. I’ve had the chance to work on real projects, learn from experienced professionals, and develop skills like communication, teamwork, and problem-solving in a fast-paced setting. You also build a strong network early on, which is something a lot of university students don’t get until much later. It can be challenging balancing work and study, but it pushes you to become more organised and resilient, which are skills that benefit you long-term.
Overall, I’d recommend the UBS degree apprenticeship because by the time you finish, you don’t just have a degree—you have years of experience, no student debt, and a clear pathway into a full-time role. It’s a great option if you’re motivated, want to learn in a practical way, and are looking to get ahead in your career early.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to UBS?
1) do forage courses in IB and AM they are free online and they give you something to put on your CV as well as help you talk about the role more during your interviews.
2) try and find any work experiences you can online apply for them try your best to get whatever you can because having a work experience with the firm does give you an edge.
3) most apprenticeships have a test at the start practice for the tests you can use a website called jobtestprep for it you do have to pay for it though
4) network with people applying to the same apprenticeships go on student room talk to people because sometimes other people do the video interviews before you and you can get the questions from them.
5) use the STAR method for interviews search what that is and use it to answer your questions. Structure your answers well and show them you are motivated for the role.
6) research on the firm you are applying very important most people get very impressed especially if you are doing in person interviews or AC’s.
7) have your CV perfected because that is what will help you get past the first stages
8) have an idea on how to write cover letters some firms require you to write one i would suggest do research on that.
