Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I would have to check measurements on manufactured steel components made for electrical pylons. Making sure they fit the standard, requirements, and were in good quality. Defect checking and finding the cause of defects.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have gain the understanding of reading engineering drawings, what may fit the engineering standard and what doesn’t including why it doesn’t fit the standard. What we must look out for when checking for defected components.

Try your best to understand basic concepts like engineering drawings as it helps drastically and find methods that are best suited to you and are accurate figuring out measurements.
