Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Initially, you would begin with a team brief of what everyone's allocation is during the week. Check whether there are people within the team with low capacity or high capacity of work and distribute work effectively to where nobody feels too rundown. Discuss new policies or any ruling changes that may affect your pieces of work. Then return to your work, perhaps entering client calls, team discussions etc.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, there tasks which were independent and I had to draft some proposals for more senior members to review. Moreover, even calling HMRC regarding clients were huge responsibilities.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
The team were truly supportive through all aspects of my work and were a true representation of BDO's core values. I had many briefs about my work, different software we used and many more. Also gained insightful feedback regarding most pieces of work I had completed.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The unified culture, was truly exemplified throughout the whole company. The office was a vibrant environment, in which I made the most of it and attended the office most days. Everyone in the team and wider team were truly kind and were always open for a conversation about their work or their personal life.
