BDO audit intern Review

The role involves working with clients and the audit team to complete audits. You are given the responsibility to contact clients regarding any outstanding queries, and then completing the relevant work on the audit. Throughout your time you are supported by other members of staff at the firm.

Throughout the internship, you are given lots of responsibility whilst working on the audits. You are responsible in contacting the client regarding any queries you may have, and are responsible for completing particular areas of the audit. However, despite having a lot of responsibility, you also have a lot of support from other colleagues which make the experience enjoyable.

I have developed many new skills whilst working at BDO. Working as part of an audit team strengthens your team skill, as you are continuously in contact with clients and other employees whilst completing your work. As well as this, time management and organisational skills are strengthened as there are many tasks you need to complete in limited amounts of time, therefore you need to organise your time well.

Lots of support was received throughout the internship, and at no point did I feel like I couldn't reach out to another colleague to ask a question. Everybody is there to support you and will help you in the best way they can.

The company culture was great during my experience at BDO. The values of BDO were shown throughout my time at the company, and it's clear that the employees at BDO acknowledge these values and use them in their day to day work. Everybody at the company made me feel comfortable and welcomed, and I felt supported throughout my time here.

I enjoyed my placement at BDO a lot, as I feel as though I have gained a lot of experience throughout my six weeks here, which I may not have received at other firms. I was made to feel comfortable throughout my time here, and feel as though I fully understand what is included within an audit.
