Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I took care of the children on a day to day basis , including setting up activities and completing room and garden checks, as I gained key children I completed settle packs and observations and termly assessments as well as planning for my key children.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoyed working with the children whilst completing my apprenticeship and the hands on experience gave me the opportunity to apply my new knowledge to my job role and interactions with the children.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I’ve learnt how to develop stronger more positive bonds with children and how to apply my knew knowledge to my practice and activities as well as planning.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

When I began my apprenticeship I was with a company called lifetime , once I switched to realise and I had my tutor (she was amazing) I managed to complete my apprenticeship in two weeks !! She was brilliant at helping and pushing me to my end point assessment.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

She was great and supported me through my apprenticeship and gave me time out whilst at work to complete my work, whilst things were difficult at home.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I gained more support from my new tutor than I have during the whole of my apprenticeship.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My qualifications gave me more knowledge to apply to my practice especially whilst dealing with SEN

Why?

My manager is fantastic and supportive , my deputy manager couldn’t be more helpful and supporting and always explained words and questions I didn’t understand.
