As an apprentice I’m always learning as I work, in my time at gnh I have met a lot of good people who are willing to teach you what they know and help you understand the industry/job. This gives a real confidence boost as you are allowed to make mistakes because it is one of the only way you will learn and grow. I will do various task like install brackets at high level for pipework or low level, this would be known as first fix. The second fix of the job would be like plumbing in a shower, sink or toilets etc.

I’ve learnt many new skills not just in the job I do but how to communicate with people in a workspace and how to be professional at work to create a good company image

Very well structured as we always get asked if there’s anything that could be improved or anything we need help with and this helps a lot as it gives good practice

I’m learning things that might not get used on site in 10+ years as industry are evolving for example like soldiering
