Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

5/5
As a parts apprentice, my day-to-day work involves checking and organising stock, making sure parts are stored correctly and easy to find. I regularly identify and order parts, receive deliveries and update stock records using computer systems. Throughout the day, I assist technicians and customers by finding the correct parts and answering any enquiries. I also follow health and safety procedures, keep my workspace tidy and communicate with suppliers when needed. Each day helps me build my knowledge of parts, improve my customer service skills and gain practical experience while working towards my qualification.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

5/5
I enjoy my programme to a great extent, as it allows me to gain hands-on experience while learning valuable skills in a real working environment. I particularly enjoy the practical side of the role, such as organising stock, identifying parts and supporting customers and technicians, as it helps me build confidence and improve my knowledge each day. The programme also gives me the opportunity to work towards a recognised qualification, which motivates me to keep developing. While some tasks can be repetitive or challenging at times, overall I find the experience rewarding and beneficial for my future career.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

5/5
I have learnt a range of new skills and developed existing ones during my programme. I have improved my communication and customer service skills by dealing with customers and working closely with technicians. I have also developed my organisational skills through managing and checking stock, as well as learning how to use stock control systems effectively. In addition, I have gained new technical knowledge, such as identifying parts and understanding diagrams. Overall, I feel more confident in my abilities and better prepared for a career in this field.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

5/5
it is well balanced with both online and onsite training at the academy.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

5/5
from the beginning i have been receiving 100% support from my employer.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

5/5
I receive a good level of support from my training provider while working towards my qualification. They provide clear guidance on what is required, help me understand my coursework and are available to answer any questions I have. I have regular check-ins and reviews, which help me track my progress and identify areas for improvement. They also give useful feedback and support me if I need extra help, which makes it easier to stay on track and complete my work to a good standard.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

5/5
I feel that my qualification supports my role very well, as it gives me the knowledge and understanding needed to carry out my tasks more effectively. What I learn through my training provider links closely to my day-to-day duties, such as stock control, identifying parts and working with customers. It helps me understand why tasks are done in a certain way, not just how to do them. This has improved my confidence, accuracy and overall performance in the workplace.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

5/5
yes like, occasional social events, such as team meals or work gatherings, which help build relationships with colleagues. There may also be opportunities to take part in professional events, such as training sessions or networking opportunities within the industry.
