Similar role to that of deputy manager. Run the service in the absence of the registered manager, ensuring care and support is of high quality, people we support are well looked after and any incidents or safeguarding concerns are addressed promptly.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

enjoying it and learning a lot during the research I am doing. Its making me look at my role differently and I can see where I can improve my practice. It is also giving me more purpose and a feeling of achievement as I make progress

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I am only a couple of months in to it, but I have learnt new theories and discussed my work with my tutor. The research I do means I am gaining more knowledge and I am encouraged to reflect on my work, which helps identify areas where I am working well and others to improve

It is clearly laid out, i know what is expected of me and everything is easy to find and use

good support and my tutor always gets back to me if I ask anything. Not had any work marked yet but hopefully this will be done soon

Opens my mind to new concepts and theories. i am still quite new to the qualification but learning more each time

Why?
I cannot fault Voyage with how they have welcomed me, supported me and invested in my development. I have had opportunities to leave and earn more money elsewhere but have turned this down to remain here.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to VOYAGE Care?
Be yourself! Think about how you can bring your values to the role to provide truly person centred care. Don;t worry about qualifications or experience, we can teach you role specific skills, as long as your values and work ethic are on point, you'll fit right in!
