Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My job role on a day-to-day basis can be quite demanding. It often feels stressful, and at times it can be difficult to stay on top of everything that needs to be done. There are constant responsibilities to manage, and the pace can be challenging.
However, despite these pressures, the role is incredibly meaningful. The most rewarding part comes from seeing the people we support achieve something that contributes to a more fulfilling and independent life. Whether it’s a small step or a significant milestone, those moments make the hard work worthwhile and remind me why I do this job.
Overall, while the role can be tough, it brings a strong sense of purpose and satisfaction that outweighs the challenges
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
What I enjoy most about being on an apprenticeship with Voyage Care is the flexibility it offers. It allows me to balance both my work responsibilities and my learning effectively, giving me the time I need to develop my skills without feeling overwhelmed.
The support I receive from both the tutors and the management team has been excellent. They are always willing to offer guidance, encouragement, and help whenever it’s needed, which makes a big difference to my confidence and progress.
Overall, the apprenticeship provides a positive and supportive environment that helps me grow both professionally and personally.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
During my apprenticeship, I have learned a range of new skills that have supported both my personal and professional development. I have improved my communication skills, allowing me to interact more confidently and effectively with the people we support and my colleagues.
I have also developed better time management and organisation skills, which help me stay on top of my responsibilities in a busy and sometimes challenging role. In addition, I have gained more knowledge and understanding of how to provide high-quality care and support, ensuring individuals can live fulfilling and independent lives.
Overall, the apprenticeship has helped me build valuable skills that I can continue to use and develop throughout my career.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The programme is well organised and structured, which makes it easier to manage alongside my day-to-day work. The learning is set out clearly, with manageable tasks and deadlines that help me stay on track and understand what is expected of me.
There is a good balance between practical work and learning, allowing me to apply what I have learned in real-life situations. The structure of the programme helps build my knowledge step by step, which supports my confidence and development.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a high level of support from my employer throughout my apprenticeship. The management team is approachable and always willing to provide guidance whenever I need it. They take the time to check in on my progress and make sure I feel confident in both my work and my learning.
I am also given the flexibility needed to complete my coursework alongside my job role, which helps reduce pressure and allows me to stay organised. If I ever have any questions or need extra help, I feel comfortable asking, knowing that support will be provided.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I receive a great level of support from my training provider while working towards my qualifications. The tutors are approachable, knowledgeable, and always willing to help if I have any questions or need clarification on my work.
They provide clear guidance on assignments and ensure I understand what is required, which helps me stay on track and feel more confident in my learning. Regular check-ins and feedback also support my progress and highlight areas where I can improve.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I feel that my qualification through the training provider helps me perform better in my role to a great extent. The knowledge and skills I gain can be applied directly to my day-to-day work, which helps me feel more confident and capable in what I do.
The training has improved my understanding of best practices and how to provide high-quality support, which benefits both myself and the people I support. It also encourages me to reflect on my work and identify ways to improve.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are opportunities to get involved in extra-curricular activities at work, particularly through team charity events. We often come together to support causes that are close to our hearts, which helps build a strong sense of teamwork and community.
Some of the activities we take part in include charity walks, such as those supporting the Autism Society, as well as fundraising events like bake-offs. We have also supported charities such as Marie Curie. These activities are enjoyable and rewarding, as they not only bring the team together but also allow us to make a positive difference outside of our day-to-day roles.
