As a key member of the People & Organisation Development function, this role supports the delivery of a high‑quality Learning & Talent Development (L&TD) offer that builds organisational capability, strengthens leadership, and enables colleagues to grow and perform at their best. The role contributes to shaping a positive, inclusive culture where learning is embedded and people feel supported to develop throughout their career.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have developed confidence in majority aspects of corporate working, including presenting, note taking, creating materials for employees to use etc..
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

Our programme is very well structured, with an easy to use system to track our progress throughout the apprenticeship, regular check in's with our tutors and regular master classes connecting with the other learners
How much support do you receive from your employer?

We receive lots of support with our employee, we have fortnightly catch ups on where we are at with our learning and what support we need if any.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Regular monthly reviews, and we have access to all documents we might need as well as if there's any questions between reviews we know we can email them and get quick replies!
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It gives me a foundation to understand the basics of my current role and I understand the work with more depth

They prioritise the work life balance, while providing the supportive network when working! They really encourage career development and have a lot of professional development opportunities when you express an interest.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Essex County Council?
Be yourself, and do your research on what ECC offers to the communities
