Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I currently work in the Baby Room as an Early Years apprentice while completing my Level 2 EYFS qualification. My role involves providing high-quality care and support to babies and young children, following their daily routines such as feeding, nappy changing, sleep times and ensuring their wellbeing.
I support children’s learning through age-appropriate, play-based activities in line with the EYFS framework, while following safeguarding procedures and nursery policies at all times. I also handle food according to each child’s individual dietary requirements and allergies, and help maintain a safe, clean and nurturing environment.
Alongside my role in the nursery, I dedicate a set number of hours each week towards my apprenticeship training. This includes applying my learning in practice, observing relevant practices with my mentor, and attending regular online and in-person sessions with Parenta to track my progress and develop my knowledge as I work towards completing my EYFS diploma.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I am currently enrolled in the programme and have greatly enjoyed the experience so far. The enrolment process was smooth, prompt and very informative, with clear guidance provided at every stage.
The management team has been extremely supportive and accommodating of my professional goals, particularly in terms of allocating appropriate weekly study hours and supporting the subjects I chose as part of my apprenticeship.
I also find it very encouraging that there are several other apprentices within the nursery. This creates a supportive learning environment where we can share experiences, exchange helpful tips and support one another. The management team is very understanding of the needs of apprentices and ensures we are given the time, guidance and encouragement required to successfully develop our skills and progress in our training.
Overall, there is a very positive and supportive environment at work, which makes it a genuinely enjoyable and rewarding place to learn and develop as an early years practitioner.

Structure and Support
