Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

At LJM Solutions I am responsible for a range of day-to-day activities including multi-channel marketing, company branding and acting as the Customer Liaison Officer. I am trusted to create marketing assets that accurately represent the company and am given a high level of creative responsibility in how these are developed and delivered. Alongside my role, I am also completing a Level 3 apprenticeship in Multi-Channel Marketing.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I am given a high level of creative control in my role, which makes the work exciting as new opportunities regularly arise as the company continues to grow. I joined the business early enough to play a key role in shaping the company’s branding into what it is today, and it has been very rewarding to see how my work and the brand have developed over time.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

When I first started in my role, I had a limited skill set. Since then, I have developed a range of new skills and learned how to use multiple software platforms to effectively turn my ideas into practical marketing activity. I continue to challenge myself by exploring unfamiliar channels, most recently developing my understanding of paid advertising. Throughout this process, I have been supported by my Managing Director and the wider office team, which has helped me grow in confidence and capability.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Both my apprenticeship and my job role are largely self-led, which has helped me develop strong organisational and time management skills. It allows me to plan my day effectively, set priorities, and focus on what I want to achieve both personally and in terms of the company’s wider marketing goals.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

The support at LJM Solutions is fantastic, not only from my Managing Director but from the team as a whole. Everyone is very encouraging, and I feel like a trusted and valued member of the team. I am regularly encouraged to get involved in events and wider company activities, which helps me feel more connected to the business. My well-being is always a priority, and I know the team care about me as a person, not just the work I produce.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I am completing my apprenticeship with LDN Apprenticeships, and my Skills Coach consistently goes above and beyond to ensure I fully understand the course content and feel confident in my knowledge, particularly as I have recently started my EPA gateway. He supports both my academic learning and the practical skills I develop in my role, and he is always available to offer guidance, support and helpful recommendations when needed.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The apprenticeship has helped solidify my technical knowledge of marketing and expand my overall skill set. The only limitation is that the course is at Level 3, which I feel is slightly below my current ability. In September, I plan to begin a degree apprenticeship with LJM Solutions, which I believe will better suit my learning needs and allow me to continue developing at a higher level.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I am fortunate to attend a variety of renewable energy sector and networking events across the country with the team. I have also visited local schools with our Compliance Manager as part of the company’s social value initiatives, helping to educate students about the renewable energy sector and the opportunities within it.

LJM Solutions is a fantastic place to work. The team are incredibly supportive and genuinely want to see everyone succeed. There is always something to be involved in, and I am consistently encouraged to take on opportunities that support my learning and development. It is also exciting to work within such a fast-growing sector, which gives me valuable experience and exposure to new opportunities.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to LJM Solutions Ltd?
Be prepared to work hard and contribute positively to the team. My Managing Director really values individuals who are motivated, willing to take responsibility, and keen to grow alongside the company.
