Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
As an apprentice in a Majas switchgear , my duties include assisting experienced technicians and engineers in the assembly, wiring, testing, and maintenance of electrical switchgear systems used to control and protect electrical power. I help with reading electrical diagrams, preparing components, installing parts, and ensuring equipment is built according to safety and quality standards. I also support routine inspections, fault finding, and testing of switchgear panels while learning how electrical distribution systems operate. Additionally, I maintain a clean and safe work environment, follow health and safety regulations, and continuously develop my technical knowledge and practical skills through hands-on training and guidance from senior staff.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

5/5
My qualification through my training provider helps me perform better in my role by giving me the theoretical knowledge that supports the practical work I do in the workplace. The training also improves my ability to read electrical diagrams, carry out testing, and understand industry standards. Overall, the qualification helps me build confidence in my skills and allows me to apply what I learn in training directly to my day-to-day work.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
