Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
As a Team Leader, I manage a team of sales assistants on a day to day business, and help run the store/ organise what needs doing each day 5 days a week for a total of 39 hours a week.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
It's good money, helped me in ways such as communication skills, confidence, and taking control of a team. However, it does get dull quick, especially when you start out at 17. Still, I do enjoy my job, just maybe not as much when I first started as a sales assistant .

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Oh definitely, such as; running a store, managing a team, handling cash, back office technology, confidence in talking, communication skills, sales techniques, and others.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
It's decently organised, just sometimes it can be hard for my stores managers to keep a good eye on my progression with our store being the second busiest in the area, so I definitely do have to step up alot of the time.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
Even bearing that in mind, my managers do try their best to give me support and they definitely have.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
I get the monthly visits and the ability to ask any questions in-between so I get a decent amount of help when I need it.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Like a solid 20%, most of it you learn via the actual store and just doing the role, however you do definitely pick up alot from the training that comes from the apprenticeship aswell.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
1/5
Nooooo... just like a boot camp for new starters but that's during work hours and I wouldn't call that an "activity". Maybe the occasional night out drinking with some of the team but I don't drink.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Savers Health and Beauty Ltd to a friend?
Yes
Why?
So I could work with a mate 😛. nah I'm playing, Savers definitely does teach you alot about retail, and is also a good job to start out with and also great for internal growth.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Savers Health and Beauty Ltd?
Always ask for help when you get stuck, you're going to make mistakes, but the worst mistake you could make is not learning what went wrong and then go on to proceeding to making the same mistakes.
