Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Bus driver with latest training and latest buses, diesel all through to full electric. Start of day procedures. Day to day running and what to do if things go awry. Meeting new people and solving new problems daily.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I’ve really enjoyed it, become part of a team that is bigger than I ever imagined. Meeting new people every day.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Learned lots of new skills, working with passenger transport, timetables. Driving a 40ft bus through London and the surrounding areas. Learnt a lot about street furniture and different types of vehicles, as well as developing my own driving and people skills.

It’s great. You get a one on one with an apprenticeship mentor every month

Support is only a phone call on text message away. Very friendly and helpful.

For dealing with driving a bus and passenger safety. You can never be too qualified.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are lots of events that go on throughout the year, I’ve heard of football events, there’s meet the management. Normally comes with pizza, lots of fundraisers too.
