Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

As a Business Administrator Apprentice within Voyage Care’s Learning and Development team, my role included administrative support such as, booking hotel accommodation, booking Basic Life training courses, booking staff onto training and marking once they have attended, and processing application forms and certificates.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have enjoyed my Business Administrator apprenticeship because it allowed me to grow professionally within the business. The programme gave me a strong balance of structured learning and real workplace experience, which made the role feel purposeful and engaging. Being able to take what I learned in my apprenticeship modules and immediately apply it to my everyday responsibilities made the programme feel relevant and rewarding.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes, throughout my apprenticeship I gained a wide range of new skills while also strengthening the abilities I already had. Balancing daily admin tasks, training deadlines, and apprenticeship work helped me become more structured and efficient. Working closely with the L&D team helped me build stronger collaboration skills and understand how to support a busy department. Handling queries, or last‑minute changes helped me become more resourceful and confident in finding solutions. I finished the programme with stronger technical skills, improved confidence, and a clearer understanding of how the L&D team operate within a large organisation.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Overall, my apprenticeship programme was well organised and structured, giving me a clear pathway through the qualification while still allowing flexibility to fit around my day‑to‑day responsibilities in the Learning and Development team.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I received a strong level of support from my employer throughout my apprenticeship. The Learning and Development team created an environment where I felt encouraged, guided, and able to grow at my own pace. My manager and colleagues were always approachable and willing to answer questions or explain processes. I was given clear instructions when learning new tasks and gradually trusted with more responsibility as my confidence grew.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I was given protected time to complete my apprenticeship work, which helped me stay on track with assignments and portfolio evidence. I had scheduled meetings with my assessor to review my progress, discuss upcoming tasks, and identify any areas where I needed extra support.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel that my qualification helped me perform significantly better in my role. The apprenticeship gave me both the theoretical understanding and the practical skills needed to work confidently and effectively within the Learning and Development team.
