As a bus driver based at Stockwell Garage, my role involves safely operating scheduled bus services across London’s routes. Day‑to‑day, I carry out vehicle safety checks, follow allocated timetables, provide a reliable and courteous service to passengers, manage fares and accessibility needs, and maintain clear communication with the control team. My focus is on ensuring passenger safety, delivering a smooth journey, and representing Transport for London’s standards at all times.

For example, the company often involves me in recruitment open days, where I help promote the company and speak to potential new drivers. This gives me the opportunity to engage with others, represent the organisation, and contribute to the wider team outside of my normal duties.

Yes, I would definitely recommend Go‑Ahead London to a friend. I was referred by my older brother, who also completed his training and felt very well supported by his assessor. Because of his positive experience, I requested the same assessor, and my own journey was just as enjoyable. The learning process was simple, well‑structured, and I received consistent support throughout, which made the whole experience both smooth and rewarding.

Most importantly, enjoy the journey, the training is well structured, the support is strong, and if you stay committed, you will settle into the role smoothly and confidently.
