Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I work as a night support worker in supported living. My role involves supporting individuals with their daily needs during the night, including personal care, medication administration, and ensuring their safety and wellbeing. I also monitor and document any changes in their health or behaviour, provide emotional support, and assist with mobility or other specific needs. I work closely with my team and line manager to ensure high-quality, person-centred care is provided at all times.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I have enjoyed the programme a lot. It was well organised, supportive, and relevant to my role. The learning was clear and practical, which made it easy to apply at work and kept me motivated throughout.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
ould rate my skills development as 5/5. The programme has helped me develop and improve key skills including person-centred support, safeguarding and risk awareness, communication, professional boundaries, and health and safety during night shifts. These skills have made me more confident and effective in my role.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The programme is very well organised and clearly structured. The review process is clear, with regular check-ins that help track progress and keep learning on schedule. Support is easy to access, and expectations are explained clearly, which makes it easier to stay focused and complete tasks on time. The structure gives good balance between work and learning, and I felt supported throughout.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My line manager took time to explain expectations clearly and supported me throughout the process. This level of support made the learning easier to follow, helped me feel confident asking questions, and kept me motivated, which supported me to complete the diploma successfully.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
My assessor was very supportive and patient throughout the course. I really appreciated the guidance and support from them, consistently explaining tasks clearly and reminded me to complete and submit my work on time in line with the diploma standards. Additional reading materials were always available, which helped strengthen my learning and understanding.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
My qualification has helped me perform much better in my role. It improved my confidence, knowledge, and day-to-day practice, especially in person-centred care, safeguarding, and communication. The learning was clear and easy to apply at work, which has helped me work more professionally and with greater confidence.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
As a night support worker, there are limited extra-curricular or social activities available due to night shift patterns. However, there are opportunities to take part in professional activities such as training sessions, meetings, and development events, which help with learning, networking, and improving practice at work.
