Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role involves interrogating, maintaining and fixing systems that are crucial for the operation of the High Speed 1 Railway. I have fault found on control systems and telecoms systems to minimise operational delays.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have thoroughly enjoyed the apprenticeship and I am really looking forward to the future. I have been given many opportunities and learnt more than I ever thought I could have done.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt an abundance of new skills whether that be practically on the tools with fibre and copper as well as software configuration and communication skills with contractors for projects.

The start of the apprenticeship was tough as I lacked direction however with support from my colleagues I have managed and been supported enough to now feel comfortable in whatever I am doing,
