Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
We were given a desk to sit with for 10 weeks, either oil, LNG, or gas. We supported our home desk on various task, e.g., projects, news emails, readings. We were given weekly workshops and assessed assignments across different desks to get to know most of the teams at RWEST.

Yes. We completed our work independently.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I really enjoyed my internship. We visited the Swindon and Essen office and a lignite power plant. I was taught a lot of transferrable skills and given industry-specific knowledge. The learning curve was very steep. Note that the internship does not grant you a place in the graduate scheme, only a possible invite to the graduate scheme interview process.

What advice would you give to others applying to RWEST
Know Python (much more than Excel skills), know how to motivate why you want to do trading, know how to pitch, be open to learn how to network.
