Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at Galliford Try?
Overall, the graduate scheme at Galliford try is good. you get hands one experience at your job as well as being placed on the take point graduate scheme which helps get to know the other grads and develop soft skills. Although there is a lack of guidance and supervision that is job specific potentially due to a lack of employees that have sufficient experience or training to help a graduate therefor you are often left to teach yourself the actual job.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
The job included setting out on site, taking as builds of works done, completing ITP checks to make sure the work is completed to standard. As well as planning future works, monitoring health and safety on site and getting involved in the commercial aspect.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

The perks and benefits, including health insurance and the most beneficial a company car are great however, the site based roles should be compensated more pay wise due to longer working hours and a further commute
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

Lots of new skills were developed through day to day site experience however it was often hard to get on formal training

How is the support you receive?

My line manger was great with support however a role specific mentor would have been very beneficial also our graduate buddies were not much help either
How is your work-life balance?

Not great work life balance due to the long commute and also long working hours. Typically working 1.5 more hours a day than contracted to
