Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
During the Deloitte insight, we worked in teams on a two‑day case study that concluded in us presenting our recommendations to Deloitte professionals, giving us a taste of real client engagement. Alongside this, we heard from members across Audit and Tax, ranging from junior staff to more senior members, which provided perspective on different career paths and responsibilities. The programme also included interactive workshops that developed skills in teamwork, communication, and problem‑solving, while offering opportunities to network and ask questions about Deloitte’s culture.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was really valuable to gain a deeper understanding of Deloitte’s business and the wide range of roles available. Hearing directly from professionals across Audit and Tax, at both junior and senior levels, helped me see how different service lines fit together and contribute to the firm’s overall client offering. It also gave me clarity on the variety of career paths, the skills each role demands, and how progression works within the firm, making the opportunities feel more tangible and accessible.

Yes, I definitely built on existing strengths and picked up new skills during the programme. Working on the case study helped sharpen my problem‑solving and analytical abilities, while presenting our recommendations strengthened my confidence in public speaking and clear communication.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company culture at Deloitte felt open, supportive, and collaborative. The atmosphere was professional yet welcoming, with people at all levels willing to share their experiences and answer questions. There was a strong emphasis on teamwork, learning, and development, which made the environment both engaging and inclusive at the same time.
