Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
IT management and maintenance of employee devices, management of websites through WordPress platform, taking lead responsibility of IT security at the company and ensuring all employee devices across the company meet the minimum Cyber Security standards as set out by the National Cyber Security Centre in the UK utilising a third party company to ensure the standards are met via regular scans, updates and patches.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
At the beginning, I was given little responsibility as I was still new to the company, learning about its processes and daily operations, but as I learnt more I was given more responsibility over time and eventually was granted lead responsibility for IT security.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
Yes I have developed on top of existing skills but also developed a set of new skills. I have expanded on my communication, team working, adaptability and problem solving skills whilst obtaining new technical skills regarding documentation, management of tasks including priority management and various IT skills.

I was given a lot of support by my line manager at the company as well as other co-workers. Eventually I was given more independence at the company.
