On a day to day my role bounces between working on a variety of audits within teams of varying levels of experience that I learn from and studying for my future exams and developing the necessary skills I need to succeed in my role.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have enjoyed the program thoroughly, it gives me an opportunity to connect with so many different and interesting people whilst also furthering myself by giving me the opportunity to pursue my qualification

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

As someone with little to no accounting/auditing background I feel like I have been able to learn so many new interpersonal skills, theoretic knowledge needed for my exams and practical knowledge needed to work cohesively with my peers.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is incredibly well organised with an incredible web of connections that you can access for whenever you need support.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer has made sure that I have everything I need in order to improve myself and succeed, and if they hadn't initially provided it, it is incredibly easy to talk to someone about any issues I am facing and get something in place to support my needs.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
My training provider (BPP) has been wonderful with providing support towards my qualification, providing a variety of course notes, multiple tutors and both in person and online classes to suit personal preferences. On top of that my provider eases our worries with exams by both going through exam prep and placing milestones testing throughout our courses to measure where we are, even providing statistics on how much better our chances are purely from just attempting the milestones.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My qualification and my role are intertwined, with both of them supplementing each other with both of them working in tandem to provide both theoretic and practical knowledge and skills
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are an incredible amount of social events at BDO, ranging from team to sector wide events, there are also many different communities or teams you can join.

Would you recommend BDO to a friend?

Why?
BDO have done nothing but make me feel welcome and apart of the team since I have started, everyone is so incredibly friendly and helpful. The work itself whilst challenging at times is also quite rewarding and genuinely interesting.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BDO?
Brush up on excel if you haven't used it before or have little experience with it. Be active, whether that means asking questions, going to events or just talking to the people around you in the office. Everyone started in the same position at some point or another so don't be worried if/when you don't know certain things.
