Placement Paralegal Review

During my placement at the Family Law Group, I assisted with case preparation, client communication, and legal research. I supported solicitors and shadowed paralegals in matters such as divorce, child custody, and domestic abuse, gaining hands on experience in both administrative and leagl processes.

I was given a high level of responsibility during my placement, including direct involvement in case preparation, client interactions, and drafting legal documents and letters. I worked closely with solicitors on sensitive family law matters, which strengthened my ability to handle complex tasks independently and professionally.

I developed skills in legal drafting, client communication, and case management. I gained confidence handling sensitive family law issues, improved my ability to work under pressure, and sharpened my attention to detail when reviewing legal documents. I also strengthened my professional jusgment and learned how to navigate emotionally complex situations with empathy.

I received a great deal of support and guidance suring my placement, especially given the close knit culture of the firm. Being a small team, they were generous with their time and keen to involve me in meaningful work. However, the firm was also very busy, and at times it was challenging to find someone immediately available to assist, which taught me to work independetly and problem solve under pressure.

It was a positive and relaxed enviornment, despite the serious nature of family law, the team fostered a friendly and approachable atmoshpere, which made it easy to ask questions and feel supported.

I thoroughly enjoyed my placement at the law firm. It was a valuable and engaging experience that gave me real insight into the legal profession. I appreciated the level of responsibility I was given and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to cases.
