Overview of the Role
Overall, how would you describe your experience at BDO?
As we just started our work last month, company offered us various assistances and trainings helping us to fit in our work life as soon as we can. I am very pleased that they said 'no questions is silly question' and encourage us to be bold to embrace more new and challenging tasks.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
My current responsibilities are undertaking all the exam-related and practical work trainings to be able to be qualified and output our learnings on the daily work. I am very enjoying learning from different people as it is very interesting to understand how people thinking differently. Those difference sometimes can assist me to learn a difficult topic from an easier perspective.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

When I facing difficulties in my trainings, our facilitators really listened and answered all my concerns, ensuring me figured out everything in my own way.

We are welcomed to mention our own interested field to our managers and if there are some relevant opportunities they can offer to us, they will do. This decision definitely allows us to concentrate and contribute more on our own career plan, building up essential knowledge and experience.

How to apply the accounting knowledge we have learned on practice, gaining relevant Excel techniques for taking our future sample testing.

They are willing to answer all my questions, and regularly checking is there any specific support I may need. I am very appreciate for all these as there are lots of things that I need to understand as a new starter.
How is your work-life balance?

This is definitely not easy for a starter, I have to say it is somethings that I need to improve on. Working life combining with exam preparing sometimes can make me stressed, but I am getting better on this as time going.

Why?
Every thing I have received so far are really considering and helpful, enabling me to overcome lots of obstacles a new starter may facing. Not every company are this lovely and willing to cultivate all of their new trainees. I am very appreciate these assistances. If without these, I can't be sure how to experience this period.

Be yourself! Showing the genuine of yourself during the interview. If you can feel comfortable during interview, you could feel the same when step in the office!
