Corporate Tax Industrial Placement Review

I assist the managers with their projects including drafting provisional and final tax computations, calling HMRC with client requests, raising invoices etc.

I'm given a good level of responsibility. I am able to independently do client work however, everything I create gets sent for approval before sent to the client.

I've developed new accountancy skills. I have also worked upon existing skills such as: time management, attention to detail, collaboration etc.

I received loads of support and guidance. I was assigned a people manager and a buddy that were frequently in contact before starting my placement and were my first point of contact during my placement. I also attended a two day long induction in Wembley that introduced me to other placement interns as well as the firms culture. I then had to undergo lots of online training before beginning actual work.

Everyone is super supportive and helpful. There's a very clear company vision and culture and frequent social events to support team building.

I really enjoyed my placement, it was a very good introduction into a corporate environment and developed many of my career soft skills as well as massively increasing my industry specific knowledge of tax. I was also able to meet many people with varying seniority and build a larger network.
