Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
In my role, I conducted detailed competitor research in the luxury corsetry market using secondary data and product analysis to support new product development. I sourced materials, visited trade showrooms, and liaised with fabric suppliers to ensure quality and alignment with brand identity. I also analysed competitor pricing, construction, and fabric choices, presenting my findings through a visual insights report in Adobe InDesign to guide design decisions. Alongside this, I led the knitwear development for the London Fashion Week collection as Head Knitter, creating samples and final pieces that translated the designer’s vision into finished garments.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
yes i was as i become the head knitter and created all the pieces for their London Fashion week collection.
