Audit Junior Review

I worked on SME firms as an audit junior, day to day I would run tests on different segments of the company's financial statements. My job involved a lot of Excel, communicating and asking clients questions, and working closely with managers.

I was given a lot of responsibility, which was great, I felt embedded within the team and there was a great work environment where I felt positively encouraged to take on more difficult tasks and responsibilities. Even having the opportunity to take the fieldwork lead on smaller audits.

I vastly improved my knowledge of Excel, learnt how to be an auditor and my confidence skyrocketed. I developed great communication skills with both managers and clients.

The training from the managers and seniors was excellent, they always had time to help out and would explain exactly why we were doing a specific test so we had the contextual backing of what we were doing. This helped me in the long run.

The culture in the Manchester office was great, a really positive atmosphere where we gelled as a team. We would often have team bonding activities and would help each other out with overtime and workload if the share was getting too much on one person.

I loved working at the firm and I can't wait to return.
