Overall, how would you describe your experience at UBS?
The Graduate Team are really supportive of the grads. We’ve been given great opportunities to rotate and experience different areas of the business.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
I really enjoy the independence we are given to take charge of projects. Our team are fully supportive of the program and encourage and help us to work with as many stakeholders in the business area as possible.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

Good salary for a graduate, the bonus scheme is great too.

The rotations are extremely helpful for figuring out what you want to do. I would suggest a bit more support with finding rotations though as it can be daunting.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

I believe I am developing my skills on a regular basis. The workshops and events UBS holds helps us learn new things from colleagues.

My team encourages me to have a work life balance and tells me to go home if I’m working too long!
What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?

Great office with even better facilities. 3 days in the office which is strictly enforced.

The volunteering opportunities are great and easy to find; I have participated in them already. The office has a big emphasis on recycling.

Would you recommend UBS to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I believe it’s a great place to work. The GTP scheme gives you opportunities to explore different divisions and learn more about what you are good at and what areas you might want to work in. The office is a great place to be with fantastic amenities. With the amount of grads every year, there is a strong sense of community.
How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?

I believe we were not told much about the role in the recruitment process. Whilst I’m enjoying the role now, I was confused for the first few weeks, as were some of my fellow GTPs, regarding our roles and teams. It would’ve been great to have been told what specific team we were going to be in when we were offered the role.
When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to UBS?
I’d recommend applying early and keeping a tracker for all of your applications.
