Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Based in the commercial team my role involved subcontract management, issuance of payments to subcontractors, cost tracking and other duties.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

I felt as though I was given the independence to learn quickly, I was certainly given a lot of responsibility and was supported immensely by the commercial team.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

Understanding framework agreements, construction standard forms of contracts, I also got to improve on my technical knowledge which was a huge bonus of the role.

An incredible support system was in place, but equally I was allowed to be independent when I felt comfortable with a specific task, the team have been wonderful at allowing me to take on more responsibility and to go at my own pace.
