Assurance Intern Review

I would usually start off with a morning catch-up to see what everyone has done so far and what things we may need to do. I was helping with the half-year review of a client company and I would use applications such as Excel to create workbooks to help display the data that the company had shown us. I would also have meetings with my counselor on some days to see if everything was alright

I was given some responsibility. Due to it being a half year review, it was very busy and extremely important that nothing went wrong. Despite that, I was in charge of dealing with dividends and memorandums. I could see how much responsibility I was given as there was an allocation workbook that would show who was responsible for which task. These tasks were meaningful as I could see how the tasks I was doing had helped everyone else

I have become much more capable in Excel. Before I was very unsure on formulas used on Excel but now I can now use them with ease. I've also learnt how to develop, manage a team through the CMI certificate learning. This had allowed me to become much more confident when leading a team. I believe I've become much more efficient when working through the use of PDF editors when transferring data from one PDF file to another

I was given a lot of support and guidance during my internship. For example, whenever I was stuck, I could go to one of my colleagues in my team and they would help me no matter what the issue was while also making it easier for me to understand. I also had a buddy who could help me with more personal matters. Finally, I had a counsellor who I had meetings with once a week where I could ask questions about any issues I had as well as if I wanted to continue working here.

It was almost like a family. Everyone was informal to each other and there were no times where I would feel like I was in an awkward atmosphere. There were a lot of social events you could go to, including the final internship party. There was also charities, you could try to volunteer for which made working with a team much more easier. Everyone was extremely nice and very approachable. If the team had done something well, they would have a small party after work

I enjoyed my internship a lot. I expected the internship to be just stuck in office, working alone in a small block. However, there was a lot of collaboration with the team and a lot more talking. The team was extremely enjoyable and I found myself laughing a lot times, There is a chance to get a graduate scheme and I would be more than happy to come back to this company due to the lovely atmosphere
